Is the proposed healthcare legislation WORTH approving w/o a public option and/or medicare-buy-in?
Is forcing people to buy private insurance (with a government provided subsidy based on need) the way to help those without insurance?
Should the Dem majority in the Senate invoke reconciliation and approve the healthcare legislation w/ a public option and/or medicare-buy-in?
What in G-d's name have our Congressional members been doing for the past year if they pass a bill that doesn't help those without a job get insurance?
Why hasn't Obama taken a more active lead of the bills outcome?
Why is Obama willing to let this bill be watered down!

just get whatever through now, so the dems can claim success. then let the election happen, and have the lame duck congress push through something awesome with reconciliation!

ReplyDeletekill this piece of shit bill and do what doctor dean recommends.
Glenn Greenwald makes a very persuasive case that Obama didn't really want progressive health care reform. I truly believe the president cares more about keeping the corporate campaign donations coming in than he does about the thousands of Americans who die every year for lack of health insurance. When Obama announced he was going to make Rahm Emanuel--who has made a career out of kowtowing to the right and sticking it to the left--his chief of staff, I knew we were in deep trouble.
